You knew I could not stay away too long... please visit me at my new blog, Nectar & Light...
I was hoping to not have to do this, but I will be taking a bit of a sabbatical from the blog world. Just when I thought I would be able to dedicate more time to it, things have changed - life is so unexpected. I can assure you that everything is fine and I will be peeking in to my favorite reads on the left-hand side from time to time. So be well and have a wonderful 2008 - if and when I am able to make a return in the near future - it will be with a bang!
I just wanted to give my readers a quick update and apologize for not being around much. I have been a bit overwhelmed as of late and made the difficult decision to close down Juniper Design & Ink as of 20 December. I simply had too many balls in the air and something had to give. I want to thank all of you who have supported my little store over the last two years - it was a truly wonderful ride. And on that note, all jewelry in the shop is up to 40% off - so shop before the 20th!
I truly hope that my new direction will allow more time for Athena Says in the coming year - it is a passion of mine and being a part of the online design community is very important to me. So stay tuned... and I have a wonderful, exciting new collaboration to announce in the coming weeks - it couples two of my greatest passions and it allows me play with a dear friend - I am so excited to share the news... soon!

Five weird/random things you probably don't know about me:
1. I have a weird obsession with smelling everything {well - most things}; I love to just stick my nose right in there and take a long, deep breath...
2. I am OCD when it comes to food - and it is even worse when I am pregnant; a piece of toast warmed just passed its prime and I can dissolve into tears {when I am pregnant - when I am not there is a great deal of cursing and re-toasting}...
3. I truly have to restrain myself from not slamming my car into someone who has just tossed a cigarette out the window - it disgusts beyond belief...
4. I love the smell of band-aids {see no.1}
5. When I was younger I had a habit of pinching the end of my nose. Now I have a little indention there on each side... {see above} yes, weird.
I tag:
The rules are:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog;
2. Share 5 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird;
3. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs;
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
I was so honored to see Grace of Design*Sponge feature my food photography and new shop on her amazing blog this morning - thank you, thank you!
As if I don't have enough on my plate {ha-ha}, I have started a food blog! For my regular readers, you may remember my background in the culinary arts - it is something that has always been a passion - I hope you can find some inspiration in my kitchen!
Since buying my Nikon D40, I have really become immersed in the world of photography again. I have been updating my Flickr page almost daily, relaunched my photoblog and discovered some wonderful new contacts though Flickr - some of my new favs are: Nylons and Cake, Three Layer Cake and Silverlily.
This is the coolest thing EVER. Kathy, of scandalously delish 16 Sparrows has recently started the Letter Writers Alliance; an organization to promote the art of letter writing - yes - the kind with a stamp. I am in love with this concept and have just joined - perks include 16 Sparrow designs available to members only and Pen Pal swaps! And check this out {featured on the LWA blog!} Join here!
My little work space is featured in Apartment Therapy's Tech edition today! The desk - which was once my mother's and sat in her little needlework shop, is one of my favorite pieces of furniture. I paired it with a hot pink Panton chair because I love pink as well as the juxtaposition of classic meets modern! You can see more shots of my home here - thank you AT!
I was so thrilled when Peggy of Figments asked me to be a part of the What's in Her Bag series she is running - I LOVE peeking in the world within a handbag - it can say so much about someone. The series has been truly inspiring - in particular, it motivated me to start using fountain pens again! See a list of my contents here - thank you Peggy!
